- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a nonstick skillet, coat with cooking spray or olive oil. Heat over medium heat and sauté the onion until soft and golden.
- In a large bowl, combine ketchup, maple syrup (or honey), mustard, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Add the rinsed beans and sautéed onions to the sauce. Stir gently to coat the beans.
- Transfer to a greased 8x8-inch baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15–20 minutes until caramelized and bubbling.
