  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup Dutch-process cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and 3 large eggs for 3-5 minutes until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine the warm butter mixture into the egg and sugar mixture and whisk until smooth.
  5. Fold in ¾ cup of all-purpose flour and ½ teaspoon of sea salt until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set and center jiggles slightly.
  7. Sprinkle extra sea salt on top right after baking.
  8. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
