Prepare the Trifle
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until the apples are coated and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Stir in milk and vanilla, then add flour and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and chill for 10 minutes.
  3. Whip together vanilla pudding and whipped cream until smooth and creamy.
  4. In a clear trifle bowl, layer half of the apple mixture, half of the cookie dough mixture, and half of the cream layer. Repeat layers ending with cream on top.
  5. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top layer and add extra chocolate chips for garnish.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
